At Nurses’ Quarters Community Clinic, we believe every patient deserves care that is respectful, compassionate, and centered on their dignity. In line with Ghana’s Patient Charter, we are committed to protecting your rights while also helping you understand your responsibilities as a patient.


Your Rights

As a patient, you have the right to:

    • Access basic and comprehensive healthcare of the highest possible quality within the available resources of the country.

  2. Information & Transparency

    • Receive full information about your condition, treatment options, and possible risks.

    • Be informed of any alternative treatments or care providers available.

    • Know the identity of all caregivers, including doctors, nurses, trainees, or ancillary staff.

  3. Choice & Consent

    • Make informed decisions about your healthcare and treatment plan.

    • Consent to or decline participation in research studies without fear of being denied care.

    • Request a second medical opinion if you so desire.

  4. Respect & Non-Discrimination

    • Be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.

    • Be free from discrimination based on culture, ethnicity, language, religion, gender, age, illness, or disability.

  5. Privacy & Confidentiality

    • Enjoy privacy during consultation, examination, and treatment.

    • Have your medical information kept confidential, only shared with your consent or as required by law.

  6. Safety & Security

    • Expect personal safety and reasonable security of your property while within the clinic.

    • Be informed of hospital charges, payment methods, and exemptions before treatment.


Your Responsibilities

As a patient, you also have responsibilities to ensure that you receive the best care and help us serve the community better:

  1. Active Participation in Care

    • Provide full and accurate information about your medical history.

    • Ask questions and seek clarification about your health or treatment plan.

  2. Following Medical Guidance

    • Comply with prescribed treatments and follow-up appointments.

    • Report any side effects or difficulties in following your treatment plan.

  3. Promoting Health & Safety

    • Practice preventive and hygienic habits to maintain your health.

    • Respect the rights of other patients, families, and health workers.

    • Protect the property and facilities of the clinic.
